Wellmore Cook Community Service Awardee

Leandrea Gilliam, Care Advocacy Program Manager at Sexual Minority Youth Assistance League (SMYAL) has been named the 2012 Wellmore Cook Cummunity Service Awardee. Gilliam will be honored during the 2012 DCBP Opening Session on Friday, May 25.

Film Festival films announced

Inside Out LGBT Film & Video Festival (Toronto) Audience Award Winner "Change," "Finding Me: Truth," and "Taboo Yardies" will be shown during the 2012 DCBP Film Festival on Saturday, May 26.

Since 1991, BLGPD has presented DC Black Pride (DCBP) annually. Each year, more than 25,000 men and women from all over the world attend DCBP and experience the great culture and history in the Washington, DC area. Attendees have come to expect only quality social and non-social events during the Memorial Day Weekend.

DCBP is a member of the International Federation of Black Prides (IFBP). IFBP is a coalition of Black Pride organizers formed to promote a multinational network of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) Prides and community-based organizations.
