George Birdsong - Board President
George Birdsong, has devoted his life to educating and supporting the needs of the Diverse black population, with over 15 years experience in education and providing counseling and courses in cross cultural communication, he continues to strive to educate people on the importance of treating people as individuals and not as segregated groups. With over 3 years of volunteer experience with DC Black Pride, he came to a point where he was ready to step up his game and get more involved in helping DC Black Pride become more visible year round with events and programs to support not only the Black Gay, Lesbian and Transgender Community, but the Metropolitan area community in large.
With a graduate degree in counseling education, he continues to work to educate people in living productive and positive lives. Even in his current position with the National Institute of Health, he continues to be a sounding board and voice for those who don't have a voice. He strongly believes that once people begin to look past sexuality and focus on love we will become a stronger and more powerful community.
Mr. Birdsong is a father, brother and advocate for the rights of people regardless of ethnic background or sexual orientation. Everyone has the right to love.
