Eboné F. Bell

Eboné F. BellEboné F. Bell is the Founder and Managing Editor of Tagg Magazine. Tagg is the only print publication (and website) dedicated to serving the queer women’s community in Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, and Rehoboth areas. The publication has been around for over three years now; creating Tagg Rehoboth Magazine in their third year.

She has been immersed in the Washington Metropolitan Area LGBTQ community for several years. Bell has produced such events as the annual Capital Queer Prom, Capital Pride Women’s Parties, Pride in the Sky, and the Put on the Gloves Fashion Show. Recently she won the 2012 Capital Pride Hero Award and the 2014 OUTstanding Virginian Award.

She currently co-leads a weekly networking group in Fairfax, VA, an organization that supports and builds others businesses. She is currently working with the Human Rights Campaign on the annual Capital Queer Women’s Summit on May 8 and 9. Photo by Cedric Terrell

About the Award

The Welmore Cook Award is presented annually to two members of the local Black LGBT community for outstanding leadership. Welmore Cook was one of the co-founders of Black Lesbian & Gay Pride Day which is now known as DC Black Pride. More information about DC Black Pride Awards.
