The Transgender Day of Remembrance was set aside to memorialize those who were killed due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice.

Some faces of Transgender Women lost to Violence and there are many more that will be memorialize. We will also be honoring victims of local D.C. attacks and hate crimes.

The event is held in November to honor Rita Hester, whose murder on November 28, 1998 kicked off the Remembering Our Dead project and now all transgender people who have been killed.

Fall Harvest Reception

Admission: A donation of (5) non-perishable food items or a $19 donation.

The reception will include light hors d'oeuvres, a DJ, Fab Lounge Drink Specials, giveaways and more importantly an opportunity to support wonderful causes.

Food & Clothing Donations will benefit the Damien Ministries Clothing & Food Banks.

Our Mission

The mission of Black Lesbian and Gay Pride Day, Inc. (BLGPD) is to build awareness of and pride in the diversity of the Black lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community as well as to support organizations that are addressing HIV/AIDS and other health issues adversely affecting our community.

Proceeds from DC Black Pride events are distributed to HIV/AIDS and other health service organizations serving the African American community in the Washington, DC area.
